On Tuesdays in February TCM Spotlight is on screwball comedies. Over the course of the month, Turner Classic Movies will be showing 20 classic screwball comedies. Screwball comedies are technically romantic comedies, but much, much broader. Screwball comedies are characterized by a fast pace, witty banter, and situations bordering on farce, among other things.
During February Turner Classic Movies will be showing some of the greatest screwball comedies of all time. Among them are Bringing Up Baby (1938), My Man Godfrey (1936), The Awful Truth (1937), The Lady Eve (1941), The Palm Beach Story (1942), and yet others.
