Not a bad problem to have.

I think the difficulties that Joan faced and her inexperience as a leading lady positively affected her performance. She truly looks terrified and confused. Because she was!

Fantastic piece, Terry. Thanks so much for contributing to the blogathon.

Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04700390138336575888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7210602.post-38725787552517687082013-08-11T02:18:06.322-05:002013-08-11T02:18:06.322-05:00I agree that 'Rebecca' is the first film I...I agree that 'Rebecca' is the first film I always think of when Joan Fontaine is mentioned, even though she had other great roles too. I recently saw her in 'The Constant Nymph' and 'Suspicion' (which has a lot of similarities with 'Rebecca') and she is great in both. Really enjoyed your post! I had no idea that she was struggling when she made Rebecca, and how it informed her performance. I've seen her in a few other roles - Jane Eyre was very good - but this is the one that stands out. CharmedLassiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08408541277096433664noreply@blogger.com
