Besides the summer season having changed from what it was originally, my other complaint is that all of the Oscar contenders these days are all released in the last 4 months of the year. I don't really know when this started, but it seems to be a recent development. And it is one that makes it hard on movie lovers everywhere.Terence Towles Canotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18397088843628331615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7210602.post-1157564171654648312006-09-06T12:36:00.000-05:002006-09-06T12:36:00.000-05:00This is an interesting study. It makes it very difficult to get out and see what I want to see.

As for movie going not being a family experience anymore, I think this is right on. I come from a traditional European upbringing and movies at the theatre are just not part of what we grew up with and, to this day, the only movie I've ever seen with my parents in the theatre was Gone with the Wind (I think I was 3 or 4).

My only complaint is that the Oscar season type films are all squished into the last 4 months of the year. This is a newish trend that really, really irks me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13694038143796175251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7210602.post-1157382768812011552006-09-04T10:12:00.000-05:002006-09-04T10:12:00.000-05:00I'd forgotten all about Little Miss Sunshine and W...I'd forgotten all about Little Miss Sunshine and Wordplay. They were all better than most of the blockbusters this summerReel Fanatichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09727636643227938924noreply@blogger.com
