As both were cancelled in 1970, James Bacon in his book How Sweet It Is: The Jackie Gleason Story called it "the only instance of mother and daughter being cancelled at the same time."
- With Petticoat Junction's cancellation and its time slot (on Saturday nights) being taken over the next season by the Mary Tyler Moore show, this was a case of a show featuring June Lockhart (who played Dr. Janet Craig in its final two seasons) being replaced on the CBS schedule by a show featuring Cloris Leachman (who played eccentric landlady Phyllis Lindstrom in the MTM program's first five, before getting her own spinoff sitcom). This is significant because some twelve years before, Ms. Leachman had been replaced on the series Timmy and Lassie by Ms. Lockhart. Don't know if this could be called karmic or "what goes around, comes around," but there you are.wbhisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02270661237413315760noreply@blogger.com
